The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival, is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. It occurs on the 15th of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. This year it falls on September 30th.
Family and friends get together for dinner, followed by eating moon cakes while appreciating a full moon. The roundness of moon and moon cakes symbolize reunion and happiness. Moon cakes have many varieties with different fillings, such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, 5 kinds of nuts, egg york, and even ham.
Happy Moon Festival!
