Keep a few packs of dry tofu in your refrigerator as I do. It’s so convenient and easy to make this healthy dish, which is full of protein and vitamins.
Dry Tofu Stir-Fry with Celery
1 pack five spice flavored dry tofu, 10 oz
1 stem celery, peeled and sliced
1/2 red bell pepper, with seeds removed and cut into strips
3 scallions, cut into half-inch pieces
3 cloves garlic, cut into thin slices
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt
1. Heat up oil in a pan to medium heat. Sauté bell pepper for 1 minute, then add garlic and white part of scallions. Sauté for 1 minute till garlic is light brown.
2. Add celery and dry tofu, and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the remaining scallions.
3. Add salt to taste, and drizzle sesame oil on top. Mix up and serve.
>I was wonderinf if you can bake these intsead of frying them. I have no golbladder and cannot eat a lot of fried foods. I will defiently try this the next time I am in the store and will by some toful. I like the firm one the best. Will let you know how it turned out as I will bake it istead of fry it.
I tried this and liked the texture and it couldn’t be simpler or faster to make. The taste was a little plain, though. What would you recommend to add a little more flavor?
Thank you for putting together this lovely website!
You may add chili peppers or/and soy sauce.
